Microneedling
Conveniently located to serve the areas of Newport Beach, CA
Microneedling is a revolutionary device designed to improve the appearance of skin texture, color, and tone. Microneedling involves the use of an automated pen which uses small, sterile needles to create vertical micro-injuries to the skin’s surface. As with any injury to the skin, the body utilizes natural processes to repair damaged cells, resulting in a boost of new cells. As new cells begin to replace the old, damaged cells, the skin will look healthier and renewed. Learn more about Microneedling at our Newport Beach, Orange County office.

FAQ
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling involves the use of tiny, sterile needles that create controlled micro” injuries” to the skin. Microneedling can be performed with a serum, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), and/or with radiofrequency. Microneedling is able to allow for deeper penetration of serum or PRP into the skin and boost elastin and collagen production. The result is a more uniform skin texture and tone. When combined with RF, microneedling also creates a tightening effect with a higher stimulation of collagen production.
What does Microneedling improve?
Microneedling can minimize pore size, improve fine lines and wrinkles, create a skin tightening effect, improve the appearance of scars, and reduce hyperpigmentation.
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) comes from your own blood. Platelets are a natural source of growth factor, thus promoting collagen formation and new cells growth. For microneedling with PRP, the nurse will drawn your blood and spin it to separate the components. Once the PRP is obtained, the nurse will use the PRP during the microneedling process.
Does Microneedling hurt?
A numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to the treatment to minimize any discomfort.
Is Microneedling performed with serums?
Microneedling can be performed with serums, which will be recommended by the nurse depending on your skin type, needs and goals. Microneedling may also be performed with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP is obtained by drawing a patient’s blood and isolating the platelets, then using this portion of the blood in place of a serum, which work to increase growth factors and blood supply to the tissues, thus rejuvenating the skin.
How does microneedling with RF work?
Radiofrequency is delivered deeper into the skin layers to produce a stimulation of collagen and other growth factors in order to promote skin tightening and a mroe even skin tone and texture. But delivering RF deep into the skin, microneedling reduces the risk of side effects (such as hyperpigmentation and increased downtime) which may be more prevalent with other procedures.
